Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
Amelia St Dental is a bulk billing practice for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule
(CDBS). It means that families whose children are eligible for CDBS can avail dental
treatment with us without having to pay anything extra out of pocket.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is facilitated by Services Australia or Medicare.
If you have a child between the ages of 2 and 17 who requires dental care, you may
be able to cover routine dental treatment through the Child Dental Benefits Schedule
(CDBS) under Medicare. The CDBS schedule enables the child to get dental cover up to
$1,095 for every two-year calendar period for dental services. General dental
treatment services like check-up, x-rays, scale and cleans, extractions, fillings
etc are covered under this scheme. Cosmetic dental work like braces or ceramic
veneers are not covered.
Families who qualify for this usually get a letter from Medicare regarding the
eligibility of their children. Patients are encouraged to contact Medicare to know
the eligibility of their children. Our trained front office staff can also help you
find out if your children are eligible for CDBS.

Australian Veterans are entitled to receive most of the dental treatment free of
cost. However, the coverage may differ depending on whether one has Veteran Gold
Card or Veteran White Card.
Veterans may receive coverage for most dental services up to the Annual Monetary
Limit (AML). To know your coverage, please bring your DVA Health Card. We can check
online to see your entitlement.

Metropolitan Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme (MPDSS)
Amelia St Dental as a private dental practice participates in the MPDSS scheme.
Under this agreement, patients who have a letter from the Dental Health Services of
the Government of Western Australia can have treatment at subsidised costs. The
level of dental subsidy you are entitled to receive is dependent on the income you
receive from Centrelink. The subsidy you receive will either be 75% or 50% which
means that the patient must pay 25% or 50% of the total fees and the remaining fee
is paid by the Government of Western Australia directly to us. The entitlement
letter will clearly state regarding the percentage of subsidy.
One can get a general treatment authority form, or an emergency treatment form
issued by the Dental Health Services. These forms are issued to eligible people who
are on the public dental waiting list etc. The Dental Health Services of WA will
issue letters to eligible patients
